Frequently Asked Questions

Call for Evidence FAQ

What is ‘evidence’?

Evidence includes written facts, data or information.

What does ‘anonymised’ mean?

Anonymised data means data were any personal identifiers, both direct (e.g. names) and indirect (e.g. location, ethnicity, age) are removed.

What is a ‘systematic review’?

A systematic review is a type of literature search that tries to answer a focused research question using existing research as evidence. We do this by checking information in education-based libraries and asking for information from National Health Service (NHS), charities and organisations who provide miscarriage support and people known to be experts in miscarriage and/or miscarriage support. As a part of this, we are putting out this Call for Evidence, to locate any unpublished evidence that might be available.

What will happen with the evidence I share?

Evidence will be assessed by the research team to decide whether it is appropriate to include in the systematic review. If it is not possible to include the evidence you provide in the systematic review, the researcher will let you know (with details) and the evidence you provided will be deleted from the University system.

What is “research evidence”?

Findings from research that are used as evidence towards a particular argument or case.

Research evidence in the field of health care is often produced by health researchers seeking to understand questions that help illuminate particular topics or questions, for example, about outcomes of certain medications or the impact of novel interventions. Research can also be undertaken by practitioners and service users working in partnership with social scientists and researchers.
